My father passed away 24 years ago today.

I miss him immensely but I know that what he taught while he was here? Gives me, the strength to be a better person, man and with the right knowledge to do things the right way. Never believe what doesn’t sound right or proper. Believe in myself and be ready for anything that comes your way.

Yet, he was a stern man, he also believed in faith, family values and the power to do as you please without fear or judgement of others.

Today, I’m wondering how he would react with Trump in the presidency? He didn’t like liars, bullies or ego filled jerks. He wasn’t a political filled man, but he voted for the right candidate at the right time. Sometimes it worked out , but just the same if not.

He worked hard as anyone I knew. He drove a truck and did his best to keep our family of nine children safe, fed and clothed. No we didn’t get everything we wanted, but that taught us to keep striving for or goals in life. Although I followed in his footsteps? I look back and see the same qualities that he had.

To sum it up. I was not born with a silver spoon in hand. I was not afforded the privilege as one person we all know.

Thank you Dad for the wonderful wisdom and advice to get through the tough times and the hard days ahead. I must also say that my mom, who passed away 8 months ago, was just as influential as my dad. I’m sad that they are both gone, but at least they don’t have to deal with the pain of day’s world events.
