Al Jazeera investigation: Iran girls' school targeting likely 'deliberate'

...
Iranian authorities have put the final death toll at 165 people, most of them girls aged between 7 and 12. At least 95 other people were wounded in the attack.

As the images of the carnage spread on social media platforms, Israeli and US authorities sought to distance themselves from the attack.

Spokespeople for the US Department of Defense and the Israeli army told Time magazine and The Associated Press news agency that they were unaware that a school had been hit.

...

Here lies the fundamental contradiction exposed by this investigation: If the intelligence was up to date enough to spare a clinic that had been open for only one year, how did it fail to identify an elementary school that had been separated from the military complex and had become a clearly defined civilian institution for more than 10 years?

This contradiction leaves only two possibilities: Either the bombing of the school was the result of a grave intelligence failure caused by reliance on outdated databases that did not keep pace with successive changes in the complex’s layout, or it was a deliberate strike based on a linkage that treats the school as part of the military system.

I've been disappointed that I haven't seen more coverage of this or Dems denouncing it. Perhaps they have and I just haven't seen it.

Many Dems take AIPAC money. These politicians will never substantially criticize anything having to do with Israel.

There's absolutely no way it was done intentionally. That's just Al Jazeera (Qatari government controlled) "low critical thinking skill" level propaganda honestly. It insults the intelligence.

Have you read anything suggesting that was actually the case?

I don't think any of the parties have proof of the origin of the weapon, considered to be a missile best I can tell. It's not so much that someone knows the answer and is covering it up but just that we don't know.

Heard on NPR this morning that Rubio said we wouldn't target a school (which I 100% believe). NPR said that Israel's U.N. ambassador suggested the IRGC targeted the school (but the ambassador actually said he had seen reports to that effect, per Grok. many grains of salt needed, obviously).

We don't know the answer yet. It's a tragedy. No question. I think it's most likely a mistake or a malfunction. I can't imagine anyone doing it on purpose.

With the 100's of missiles Iran is launching some are going to fail after launch and fall in Iran.
Then of course it would make sense to blame it on the US & IDF

Our military is our neighbors and children. They aren’t targeting little kids. There is zero to gain from that.
