For those suggesting Repubs messed with Dallas vote

by confusing polling places, it makes no sense to me why they would try to screw Crockett out of votes when they prefer her as the opponent because they think a black woman would be easier to beat in the general. Why would they push to accomplish the opposite of what they want to see happen?

Unfortunately, it proved to be too costly so they abandoned the effort.

You really think they can fix 435 House elections and 33 (or 34) Senate elections?

…so that the supporters of whichever candidate loses the primary will be convinced it was stolen from them by subterfuge, and refuse to support the winner in November.

Are there any down ballot races that might be affected by this? Republicans are sneaky assholes.

it is not about HER, and whether SHE was the target. It is about failing to run a free and fair election.

Every person who gives a shit about free and fair elections should raise hell when they pull this kind of shit.

It's not just that the Republicans refused to hold a joint primary using the county system people have used for over a decade, the county election site (and I'm sure other sources) provided the WRONG information.

https://www.dallascountyvotes.org/in-person/

For the March 3, 2026 Primary Election Early Voting period, voters may vote at any countywide Vote Center. On Election Day, voting will be precinct-based, requiring voters to vote at their assigned partys polling place.

When Voting in Person whether at an Early Voting Vote Center or your assigned Partys Polling Place, voters must be mindful of the provisions established by the Texas Election Code, ensuring a smooth and fair voting experience for all.

This is precisely the kind of voter suppression tactics we MUST defend against. And one place to start is giving whatever we can to build up state democratic party infrastructure and support election protection organizations.

From the Texas Democratic Party
https://www.texasdemocrats.org/media/hundreds-of-voters-in-dallas-and-williamson-counties-affected-by-polling-location-confusion

The Dallas and Williamson County Republican Parties refused to agree to a joint primary election. That decision forced voters out of the countywide voting system they've used for over a decade and sent them scrambling to find their assigned precinct. The result? Confusion, long lines, and working people being told they're at the wrong location with no clear path to cast their ballot.

changing the precincts where people voted causing confusion among voter wouldn't that also affect republican voters. I do think it was deliberate but if it also depressed/disrupted republican turnout then it cold have hurt both Cornyn and Paxton in their Senate primary which is now headed to a May 26th runoff.

any less confused than Democratic voters and any less disenfranchised?

I don't understand the rationale either.

Unless the county Republican party organizations simply did not wish to be seen as allowing even the slightest customary accommodation and thought that strict adherence to the time and place provision of the state election code would make them appear to be integrity hawks.

Voters will not be caught flat footed in November.

be required to explain the reasoning of the enemy?

The fact is that Dallas Republicans refused the MOU to allow county wide voting at any location in the county (per MSNOW).

One might ask every Republican in the county, and get many different answers. We may never know who answered honestly....
