Your periodic reminder that sometimes we have to look outside of the U.S. for actual, unvarnished, real "NEWS"

I am, in fact, a "CUT TO THE CHASE" guy. I really don't want to study Trump's inner child, and AS MUCH AS I APPRECIATE MARY TRUMP'S FINE AND THOUGHTFUL BODY OF WORK, if she posts a "Here Is Why Donald Is Bombing Iran" article on Substack, and the premise is that Fred didn't love him enough as a kid, I won't be clicking on it. Sometimes it's a matter of "JUST GIVE IT TO ME STRAIGHT. DON'T WAX POETIC, DON'T GO PSYCH 101 ON ME."

in that picture from the article.

I asked myself, "Why are all of those people touching the guy that's dying?" No suck luck, but hopefully Putin will put him down, one way or another. Then it's Pootie's turn. I despise both of them. 😠

I learned that one long ago. I have had friends from other countries and cultures my entire life and they have always told me, "If you want to know what's really going on in the US, look at international news sources." And they have always been correct.

That, and I'm in a state of disbelief...EVEN THOUGH I KNOW HOW WE GOT HERE...that Hegseth is saying shit like "U.S. soldiers are only dying in Iran to make Trump look bad," and the media is reporting on it, with little or no outrage or irony.

Hence, my post, but yeah, I didn't go for a "BIG REVEAL" here.

Even countries with governments and media generally friendly to Trump's nonsense (Italy, for example) are providing more news than top US sources.

In the corporate media, we have propaganda readers and state controlled media.

Though many of the liberal news media on line are much more accurate and up to date.

journalists from other countries would discuss the latest headlines in their country.
It was an international round table with real news. I remember France and Germany
were represented, I just don't remember the others.
They brought their newspapers and showed the front pages of leading headlines.
Now we watch Amanpour and always, Zacaria.
