Tucker Carlson: "Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter if they want

https://www.rawstory.com/tucker-carlson-2675914363/

Conservatives flip out as MAGA icon makes 'truly unhinged' prediction about US troops

Republican lawmakers, conservative pundits and military veterans reacted with revulsion over the weekend at comments made by podcaster Tucker Carlson on Friday, in which he predicted that US troops would go on a campaign of sexual assault in Iran if the country agreed to Donald Trump’s “unconditional surrender" terms.

In an interview with “Breaking Points” co-host Saagar Enjeti, the former Fox News personality reacted to the “unconditional surrender” comments amplified by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, by telling the podcast host, “Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter if they want — and everyone knows that.”

Yes we have constrained the actions of most state militaries, but there are still similar examples in modern war.

... like Tucker Carlson, he must be deprived of the oxygen of attention that he constantly craves. He will say and/or do anything to be the center of attention because he is a psychopath. Ignore him. Refuse to give him a soapbox from which to spew his vitriol. Pay no attention to him whatsoever. He will slither back into the sewer that spawned him, and wallow in his resentment, whining into the darkness.

Rape is a big problem during peacetime. Even active-duty females get raped. I don't see what's 'truly unhinged' prediction about what he said.

It’s an insulting premise to even print. Our troops are the same people that have always been militarily despite the president. They just didn’t switch out a year ago.

Tucker needs to just go away. He says anything for attention just to get negative viewers.

Good Lord. Soldiers who rape during peacetime, even as far as raping fellow soldiers, are even worse during war time. Believe, or pretend to, what you want. Some discussions aren't worth wasting time with.

Look up US military civilian rape period. Not "systematic"??? Your posts seem to excuse its existence because, however prevalent throughout its history, it is not "systematic"??? Am I reading your posts correctly? Out of curiosity, how much rape is acceptable before it becomes "systematic"?

We did our fair share of plundering. Stories have popped up here and there of GIs taking gold, jewels and other valuables they stumbled across. More than one packed up a car clandestinely and shipped it home after the war. Knew a friend of a friend of my family who stumbled across an "abandoned" Mercedes 540k in the garage of a bombed out house. He packed in grease, oilcloth and a plywood box, stashed in under rubble, went home and was discharged, came back to Germany as a civilian a year and a half later, dug it up and shipped it home. Got to see it once, beautiful car.

It's war, these things happen more than you think, people just don't talk much about them afterwards.

and how unacceptable it was the Trump considered sending ground troops because many soldiers don't come back the same and some break and do things they'd never do in peacetime or back at home. I'm no Tucker fan, but on Trump's broken promises and on this war, he's been spot on.

Here's the full context where he was talking about the madness of trying to pursue an unconditional surrender in Iran and how rape is happens with that. It starts at minute 21

"It takes Ulysses Grant who is willing to sacrifice literally hundreds of thousands of casualties for an entire year-long period to get to that point. That's what unconditional surrender means. And that is what the president has been demanding. And I want every American to realize that unconditional surrender if that is the true demand and it is now. He said President Trump said make Iran great again. Uh this morning that is can only be enforced with an ocean of American blood and that is not something in our national interest. We are walking every single day closer to that possibility and it is an abomination if you ask me.
Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter if they want. And everyone knows that. And that has been, if there's one consistent lesson of history, it means unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter. Everyone can feel that. That's like the most sadistic instinct there is. And so, to avoid that, people will do anything. And so that's why it requires that level of force to get a population subdued to the point of unconditional surrender. That's why. And so, in this case, of course, we don't have the ground force necessary. I don't think Americans would voluntarily participate in it. I just don't think we can do that. It would require weapons of mass destruction. It would require presumably nuclear weapons in order to do that. And let's stop let's not lie to ourselves. We're moving toward that.

Here's the video

My mom told me about the horrific, systemic rapes at Abu Ghraib and we know about the rapes of Palestinian prisoners that are accepted and defended by Israeli society, like that famous recent case where they marched on the prison where IDF rapists were to free them.

Let me just paste this link here before someone foolishly pops up with twisted, delusional denials that the IDF doesn't rape. I can't believe anyone of sound mind won't admit that rape is rampant in wartime.

https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2024/08/israels-escalating-use-torture-against-palestinians-custody-preventable

And I agree, it's sad that it's former MAGA types like Tucker and MTG sounding alarms.

It's long past time for humanity to gather its collective shit and figure out the goddam basics. What kind of society do we actually want? What is an appropriate age of consent? What constitutes adequate proof of identity? When is a person's word their bond? What rights should we afford prisoners? What minimal health care and safety standards should apply for every human? Which communicable diseases shall we accept as endemic? Is literacy a human right?

Maybe the foundation AIs can be trained up to present solutions, since we humans seem incapable of coming up with generally acceptable answers to simple questions that any interstellar tourist would consider before spending a galactic dime on our planet.

We act like we're so damn advanced, but we flounce around like Temu Vikings in cheap suits while we leave important questions unanswered and interesting thoughts unthunk. In an age of global telecommunications and automated language translation, we have no remaining excuses -- not anymore.
