Senator blocks veterans benefits bill over cost in 'dollars and cents'

For several years, veterans groups have been pushing for legislation that would allow those wounded in combat to receive both disability benefits and retirement pay. However, a bill intended to do just that — the Major Richard Star Act — recently stalled in the Senate.

Named for an Army reserve major who died of lung cancer linked to burn pit exposure, the legislation took aim at a federal rule against “double-dipping” — one that veterans’ advocates argue has wrongly been applied to two different federal benefits.

But the legislation has faced an uphill battle in Congress, and most recently, it failed to advance after a lone senator blocked a procedural move that would have allowed the Senate to pass the bill.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said on the Senate floor that his objection to the bill came down to “dollars and cents.

You greedy veterans can get along fine with one prosthetic leg instead of two!

Shows how much of a fuck "baseball cap Don" really gives about the "troops".

... but then, that is a prerequisite for earning the dubious distinction of being a Republican. 16 years ago, Johnson promised his constituents that he'd only stay in office for ONE TERM. He lied.
So... are ya proud of yourselves, Wisconsin? Well, don't be. You voted for this asshole THREE FUCKIN' TIMES!

For the life of me,.......I don't understand why the entire Military hasn't thrown a Military Coup Insurrection..... with the entire Military going after him and all his Republican CABAL.........and throwing all of them out..........

At this point, that may be the ONLY thing that can save the entire U.S (and world). from them.......

We know you don't care about current and future wounded vets, Ron, but you and your fuckwit party of sycophants had a great opportunity to save a lot of "dollars and cents" by ending it, but you decided that the taste of #rump's ass was just too delicious.
