Skyrocketing gas prices, as well as healthcare premiums, and inflation in general, will have far more impact on voters than long lines at TSA in airports.

The blizzards and other bad weather that were causing flight delays are also over. The TSA lines will still be longer than usual but not crazy long like they were last week. Let's not cave on this and fund ICE just because of long lines at the airport.

Besides, ICE has all (more than) of the funding it needs for awhile, so, frankly, they can just go to hell.

It's the timing of the thing. Israel has wanted our help in taking out Iran for years. Why do we now have this situation where Israel is telling us that they plan to attack Iran, and that we need to help for "defensive" purposes?
You'd almost think that Bibi and Trump planned this.
Of course the law of unintended consequences reared it's ugly head and the whole thing went FUBAR, as these kind of things always seem to do.
I'm just not buying the whole premise of the war. It's especially worrisome since Trump seems to not have a reasonable answer when asked why we're there.

Trump is an idiot who is way above his station. He has no plans or intellect other than chaos. But this time it’s biting him in his derrière.

I think it's merely more of the slow erosion of right wing capital as his grafts become more and more obvious to the public at large. Every passing day, he provides otherwise apathetic voters a compelling reason to vote against his agenda.

As has been noted, ICE is already fully funded. It's just dumb to make TSA and other federal workers go without pay or quit...mainly as a gesture, imo, to the people who think they are fighting for the cause as they set it back.

Democrats support a stand alone bill. Our senators and congress people need to keep saying that, loudly and ad nauseum. You need to say it too. call your Senators and Reps to make the point.

Caving to Republicans on this won’t help a bit but will demoralize the troops.

Those of us who focus on politics a lot drift easily into thinking that all that is needed is for "the people to be made aware." To that end, all that is necessary is speaking out, protesting, resisting, fighting, and making a stand. But, imo, we mistake "performance," regardless of how sincere, extreme, or stage-crafted, as "doing something." It almost never does anything.

Some of the troops are too easy to demoralize. Troops who demoralize too easily need to gut check more and ruminate less on social media imo.
