With that I see a lot of posts here and to be fair, in liberal CA forms on Nextdoor, where people have been overly worried about the Governor race.

I would be shocked if two Repukes make it through.

With the latest events it is likely that Steyer gets one spot. Now we need to get one more Dem through.

Because there is no way in hell a Repub is winning CA this year sans MASSIVE fraud.

And from what I have read I believe the women. There is a little over a month left so maybe something will come out to change my mind.
Yes the timing sucks but if you have ever been or had a loved one who was a victim of SA you recognize certain patterns of grooming. Unfortunately I saw those patterns in the women's statements.
I was a supporter and was voting for Salwell. This has left heartbroken.

I think this sounds like some swift boat stuff. I read the CNN article and I could and would not vote for him after this.
I think the allegations are true. I also think it's another dem that is behind it.

Not sure about the timing. Maybe it is due to them finding out that they had similar experiences just recently.
We have four voters in my household, I'm the only female. We were all voting for him.
I'm not at home right now cause I'm caring for my son who is hospice in Reno area.
It will be an interesting conversation when I return home.

We are grateful that gamma knife radiation gave us three years. His cancer is slow growing so if luck holds out we might get another year.

The Repubs would have been better letting is wait until August or September.

Steyer has the money, Porter being in the House should have some insight.

I was soft on both of them prior to these events. Now I am disgusted by both. Hopefully the truth will come out.

to be lies coordinated by Republicans who hated Kerry since he spoke out on the war. Note attacking him for speaking out would have been fair, but they knew that would not hurt him.

Here, you say that it is likely true. I agree and think we will find that he will claim it was consensual.

What their money does is form a coherent narrative. A false one, certainly, but it is consistent. We have money too, and a ton of creativity, yet our narratives are usually all over the damn place.

Just like when everyone from around the country thought it was their business to tell Texas how they needed to vote in a certain recent senate race and then get really upset when that didn't go the way some thought it should.

Not a Californian (often wish I was!), but been following the posts on Bluesky, and Becarra gets mentioned quite often. I don't know much about him or his candidacy, but on the surface, he seems quite great. Do you have an opinion about him, PeaceWave?

and I had a lot to say about Governor's running in other states. For example, Mamdani, Shapiro, Cooper....
It may be our governor, but it doesn't hurt to hear input from citizens of other states because ultimately, we have the final say. I welcome as much information as possible and it's up to us to decide what to believe and what to utilize in our decision making.

Kind of like a contestant on the "Price is Right" game show. The audience is yelling out their opinions and through all of the pandemonium, the contestant on stage makes the final decision, right or wrong, they have to live with their decision.

We have non partisan municipal races, which run the similar gamet. Although we don't have ranked choice.

Our mayoral races almost always end up in runoffs because the filing fees are only about $100.

I've often said that if you're not a Texan, you don't fully understand Texas politics. We are a unique situation. So, I'll gladly give you the same respect for California.

In Texas, though, I'm not sure the "we" gives me any comfort because we still have more than our share of asshole MAGA's.
