Paris Prosecutor Summons Elon Musk Following Cybercrime Raid On X's French Offices
https://deadline.com/2026/02/paris-prosecutor-summons-elon-musk-raid-x-french-offices-1236707068/Elon Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino have been summoned for questioning in France following a raid on the platform’s French offices by a police cybercrime unit on Tuesday.
The Paris Prosecutor announced the raid in a post on X, saying it had been carried out by officers of the national cyber unit in conjunction with European crime agency Europol as part of an investigation opened in January 2025.
The investigation followed in the wake of a report by French politician Éric Bothorel in January 2025 raising concerns over the platform’s algorithms and suggesting they influenced automated data processing systems.
The Paris Prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday that this investigation had been widened in the wake of recent complaints related to content created by X’s AI tool Grok.
