How many sitting Catholic Senator or Representative said anything when Trump criticized the Pope?

Very few, if any?

That tells us that they worship Trump more than they worship Jesus or Mother Mary.

They respect Trump more than they do the Vicar of Christ.

It is blasphemy, plain and simple.

And Trump knew he was standing on shaky ground.

He dresses like Jesus but says he is Dr Kildare.

And Jesus said, "I will destroy your entire civilization".

As i heard from Marjorie T G recently, they are afraid of not only being attacked on truth social, but also facing primary challenges.

So these Maga congressmen choose to take the cowards way out.

Seems like a bad take. Didn't JFK have to give a whole speech about how he wouldn't be subservient to the Pope? Is that not the case? Catholic members of Congress must defend the "vicar of Christ" in all cases or they worship the President?

If the Pope thinks he can dictate people's reproductive choices, would a Democratic president be able to criticize that? Would Catholic Democrats in Congress be required to leap to the Pope's defense?

To accuse him of being soft on crime when you are a convicted criminal and are committing crimes every day of your life?

Hypocrisy?

Political beliefs on abortion and engaging in direct criticism of papal authority or doctrine are two different things.

Most of the time people elected to represent a party agree with that parties political platform but not always and when religion is used as a political tool it goes against the long-held doctrine of seperation of church and state.
