ATHENS, Ga. — Vice President JD Vance told a crowd in Athens that organizers debated canceling Tuesday’s Turning Point USA event just hours before it began due to threats directed at Erika Kirk, forcing her to miss the highly-anticipated rally.

Vance said they ultimately decided to move forward after consulting with the United States Secret Service.
