And how many future drafted bubba’s will run to join ICE, instead of military, to make 4-5 times the pay, bonuses, hotel and restaurant service, and guaranteed not to be shot at, or prosecuted for murder. With a budget better than service members.

They can avoid those hoods. Military folks do not have that option. Being shot is a certainty for them.

where NJ is weighing ICE compensation to NJ people injured by ignorant clods like this one.

We have a protest against ICE going tomorrow over ICE renting an office in an office complex in Roseland for 40 attorneys. I'll be there, of course.

Trying to come up with a sign idea I can make tonight.

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) is a directorate under U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) responsible for identifying, arresting, and deporting undocumented immigrants, with a focus on public safety and criminal threats. ERO manages immigration detention facilities, transports detainees, and enforces removal orders to over 150 countries.

If the House approves it, it's hard to imagine it will get removed, but people should bombard all Republicans in both the House and the Senate with calls telling them to vote it down. I have no idea how long they expect this process to take.

From Occupy Democrats:

"BREAKING: 'South Texas will NEVER be red again!' Republicans PANIC as Trump’s ICE raids destroy their support with the Latino voters they need to win!"

"This stark warning from construction executives, reported by Politico, highlights how excessive immigration enforcement is crippling homebuilding. Raids on job sites are scaring away workers, driving up costs, and worsening the housing shortage in a state desperate for affordable homes...The ripple effects extend far beyond economics. The real bombshell is the political fallout...Bigwigs in Stetsons who supported Trump now admit that these policies are alienating Hispanic voters in key regions, especially South Texas, where gains in 2024 helped flip key areas red."

"One CEO bluntly told lawmakers that South Texas 'will never be red again' if the ICE raids continue. They are eroding support among Latino communities fast, threatening the GOP hold on districts and statewide power...Texas turning reliably blue — or hell, even purple — would be a seismic shift! It would reshape national elections, hand Democrats a massive electoral advantage, and signal the collapse of the GOP's recent Latino outreach."

"The builders’ message is clear: Trump's deportation push nullifies his promises of lower prices and economic growth, and the political price could be the permanent loss of a once-red stronghold...This is the kind of self-inflicted wound that could haunt Republicans for a generation. If even Trump’s own allies are warning of irreversible damage, the midterms and beyond look grim for the party."
