Confidence in the economy is dipping across political parties, too, with Republicans confidence score dropping 15 points between March and April. Forty-seven percent of US adults say the current economic conditions are poor, while only 21% call them excellent or good. And theres little optimism about the future: 73% say the economy is getting worse, while 53% say its a bad time to invest in the stock market.

(72,275 posts)... a significant amount of our food and have at least six months of dried and canned food in the pantry. There is no doubt: it's bad and I know we will be feeding some of our neighbors at some point when it gets worse.

(26,345 posts)70s) so it is very nice to finally get out of the 'mortgage trap'. The cars, a little easier, we don't drive near as much, so overhead, maint., gasoline, etc. isn't so much plus we don't drive too much either. We do have a food pantry, but I'd prefer to keep that for us, everyone of us needs to step up, and do what we did, buy a couple of more things a week/month, etc., and then before you know it, you'll have a little nest egg of food goodies saved up.
