Because it has been many years since I've trusted anything that the media feeds us. And, I don't believe a single word that emanates from any republican's mouth - probably since Reagan.
It leaves us in a curious place - not knowing the truth - but it is they that fucked it all up and led to this distrust. It is that which led to us turning off the TV 15 years ago, and cancelling our newspapers.
We are in a time where the primary focus is selling shit to us - ads all the time. And my wife and I don't wish to play that particular game.
I will get my news from the excellent posters here at DU, and links provided, and come to my conclusions from that.

Trump drama fatigue?

(2,968 posts)It was a pretty large gathering. Nobody brought it up. People are definitely fatigued with the con. CNN and MAGA cultists seem to be the only ones talking about it.

We need to focus on our own goals, be they personal or political.
A good start would be taking the trash out.
The rotting remains of the Republican Party are a biohazard.

(2,480 posts)anyone should be surprise by anything in the Media anymore.......All you are gonna hear is the Republican angle or side on everything......
What else would anyone think, if they realize that 95+% of ALL MEDIA in the U.S. is owned/operated by Uber Rich Republicans, and Republican Corporations......
A year ago, just before the election, I canceled my on line subscription to the Washington Post, New York Times and L.A. Times.
All of their Editorial Staff wanted to publicly announce backing Kamala, and their UBER Rich owners FORBID THEM from backing Kamala, in spite of the fact that they had historically always made public who they felt was the best candidate.....

(38,990 posts)Not sure where you got that their "uber rich owners" prevented that.

(2,480 posts)were protests about all three, being told by their owners (or board) to not put their votes for Kamala, IN PRINT, in their papers, like was customary.........I may be wrong, I will check on the NYTimes......Who owns the NY Times, and what are their net worths?

They thrive on the attention. I believe it's about time that we start refocusing our energy on what we want and what we stand for instead of all of their shenanigans.
Otherwise, we're just feeding the beast.
It's time for them to get their final pfffft and for them all to be flicked off like bugs.
It's past time for us to focus and regroup.
Some days here, I think I'm reading at the DJT Underground. I'm ready for that to change.
Attention is one's most vital tool in all circumstances. Whatever attention is focused upon is strengthened.
Thanks for the discussion, NHL.

(25,341 posts)The press has failed to hold him accountable. And yes there are ways this can be done, mainly with mass action of the journalists as a group. But they are unwilling to do so. This could have been "nipped in the bud". But I do agree that anything he says or his administration says is not worth listening to. And I don't.
