It's the centennial of Route 66

The hubby and I listen to Sirius radio in the car, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and the dedicated Motown station. We can always find something good to listen to. Today we kept hitting different versions of Route 66 even a Chuck Berry version that we had never heard before. I had noticed that it was the google doodle for today. Found out it's because today is the 100th anniversary. Pretty cool.

Appropriate for a song about a freeway. Love his piano playing and his vocals and the band. Just all around good stuff!

And all the covers never came close to what Nat King Cole laid down; he totally owned the song

Fun bit of Route 66 trivia: Route 66 terminated at the Santa Monica Pier
