Concerns are growing among Senate Republicans that Mike Johnson has lost control of his conference, potentially making his leadership a major liability in the upcoming midterm elections, The Hill reported Monday.
Its not like these things are hard, said Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), according to The Hill. Thats the thing. I feel like the Senate has teed up things fairly easily for them, even to the point where if they dont like it, they can blame us. And they still havent taken the opportunity to actually govern, and I do think its hurting the brand. The House is rowdy.
Johnson faced a convergence of challenges last week during an absolutely brutal week, one that sparked waves of infighting over GOP priorities that Johnson has struggled to quash.

Hurting the brand Cramer...................
.............your a traitor Cramer to the Constitution........... maybe you should look in the mirror and self reflect on your support for a 34 count convicted fraudster and a person that was adjudicated to have sexually assaulted a woman in a department store dressing room.........

(23,686 posts)If the finger-pointing and blame game over election losses has started among Republicans six months before the elections are even due to be held, that gives some indication of how bad they think it's going to be for them, IMO.

He controlled it before he was re-elected, killing the bipartisan immigration bill.

(436 posts)Please. Republicans know November is going to be an electoral bloodbath for them, beyond other midterm losses in the past cycles. Trump is historically unpopular, and that's before what is sure to be a shitshow summer. Republicans are going to lose the house by a lot and right now I expect them to lose the Senate too.
They know that's coming and they are just looking at who they can blame it on.
