Breaking: Tennessee Republicans pass new 9-0 gerrymander

Breaking: Tennessee Republicans pass new 9-0 gerrymander after SCOTUS destruction of Voting Rights Act eliminating state’s only majority-Black district & last Democratic seat. Splits Memphis, which is 63% Black, into 3 districts to disenfranchise Black voters. Quite literally a return to Jim Crow

1. Dems should be flooding the rural areas of some of these states with campaign people

FLOODING.

Maybe it won't pay dividends this time around, but we need a true 50 state strategy in the rural areas of the gerrymandered districts. We need to do real door-to-door politics. Are farmers really suffering under Trump policies? If so, get your people out there. Spend the money and build the infrastructure, as our DNC chair likes to say on podcasts.

What are the rural policies that will ameliorate the Trump policies? What are the Democratic policies for rural Tennessee? Are they good or not? Can we sell them or not. You have to try.

Pukes are hurting red states by cutting medicaid and snap benefits. Gerrymander people to the moon, it won't change how they feel. Pukes will be voting for Democrats big time. IMO.

Also hopefully, this might dilute repub majorities to levels the can become overturned by massive turnout for Dems.

reminds me of the gas wars back in the 1950s and 60s.

First one station would lower its price by a penny. The gas station across the street would then lower its price two cents. Then the gas station down the street would lower three cents.

Soon all the stations in the area would be giving away gas for less than wholesale price.

In the long run no winners. All the stations lost.

Not an exact similarity for a variety of reasons but this is what I am reminded of.

Of course I am a Boomer so nowadays almost anything reminds me of a Leave it to Beaver or My Three Sons episode.
