DU Nominated for LA Press Club Award

The Los Angeles Press Club just announced its Finalists for the 68th Southern California Journalism Awards, and my column, "A Call to Action on a Somber VE Day," was nominated for Best Online Editorial. This is my third nomination for DU, with prior nominations in 2006 (won 2d place) and 2014.

This post is important to me as the son of a World War II veteran. It is hard to believe that it has been 20 years since I was first nominated for a series of columns in DU and won second place (to my surprise). I am grateful to DU for providing this forum all these years and for fighting the good fight in these dark times.
