"They'll find a reason to impeach me".

So said Donald Trump. In the event that Democrats were to win the Congress in November?

But, not to worry Donald. Unlike yourself, all charges will be adequately investigated, with witnesses under oath. There will be no seashells.

If you are not guilty of any crimes, you will not be impeached. But high crimes and misdemeanors are still the standard that must be met.

Your attempted theft of taxpayers dollars from the Treasury for your individual slush fund will be a good start.

Embroiling the country in a war in the Middle East without consultation with the Congress deserves an explanation. You have done great harm to America and the economies of the rest of the world. You do not get to slither away to Mar-a-Lago without some answers.

Your side deals of making fortunes for yourself and your family are all illegal. It is forbidden by the Constitution. You can pretend that the emoluments clause does not exist or does not apply to the Trump family but it is still part of the Constitution and the law of the land.

You should have to relinquish all your ill-begotten gains. The Presidency was not created for you to enrich yourself.

Yes, there is a possibility that you may be impeached.

...clear that there is NO WAY OUT of the global and domestic chaos and escalating harms of his criminal war on Iran as long as he is in the White House, we could see some surprising developments.

The felon is incapable of sucking up the humiliating "deal" required

He knows that the only way out would paint a giant L for Loser on his forehead.

And he is constitutionally incapable of accepting a loss.

Remember the outtakes from his Jan 7, 2021 speech?

"But this election is now over..."

"I don't want to say the election is over."

Perhaps a year from now enough Republicans will finally wake up and realize that there is no way out as long as he is in the WH. Any resolutions will be vetoed. Perhaps enough will have had it to override, but perhaps not.

At some point, we'll see a succession of them tramping up to the WH and giving him a choice: Resign for health reasons to save face or you WILL be impeached and removed -- there are enough of us now.

Then J.D. will make the humiliating deal.

And who knows? Perhaps he'll be so pissed at the felon for putting him in that position that he releases the Epstein files without the Trump redactions.

Such a scenario would not surprise me in the least.

It may be that a few wake up before the mid-terms, but my guess is that it will take a combination of a mid-term rout and the grim one-year anniversary of his criminal and monumentally insane attack on Iran for enough of them to face reality. And that reality is that the crisis isn't Iran, the Crisis is Trump and his inability to take the loss -- his inability to suck up the humiliation of re-committing to Obama's treaty, shovelling 10x the amount of money at them that Obama did, and making a disastrous concession on the law of the sea to allow an "environmental fee" (i.e. toll).

Let's focus on something else. Let's focus on just regaining the majority in both houses and winning the Presidential election on 2028.

Let's not focus on impeaching the crooked actor in the White House. Let's pay attention to what we need to do to win in 2026 and 2028. If we can manage that, we might be able to undo some of the damage.

If all we look at is an impeachment, we're going to lose everything. That, I can guarantee. It has already happened twice, for Jebus's Sake!

Impeachment is a positive feature for a majority.

You can bet the numbers for impeachment will grow as the global and domestic chaos and harms of his criminal war on Iran escalate.

And those harms will escalate. He will NEVER suck up the humiliating "deal" required to extricate himself. He knows it would paint a big L for Loser on his forehead, and the psychopath is incapable of accepting loss.

He is already pivoting to "holding out is strength" (with the corollary that holding out a very long time is super-strength). He is attempting to manage expectations of the strait being opened before the mid-terms with his "I do not care about the mid-terms." Next he'll probably start citing the fact Obama's team took two years to negotiate the treaty. (Although he may be smart enough to avoid that given that it would just remind everyone he tore up that hard won treaty -- a treaty allies were on board with, unlike his criminal war.)

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/04/majority-backs-trump-impeachment-even-one-in-five-of-his-own-voters/

Out of the 1,514 Americans surveyed between April 10 and April 14, 37 percent said they opposed and eight percent reported they were unsure.

https://www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-04-22-strength-in-numbers-verasight-impeachment-polling

A new Strength In Numbers/Verasight poll conducted April 10-14, 2026 finds 55% of U.S. adults say the House should vote to impeach Trump. 37% oppose, and 8% are unsure. A surprising percentage of both Republicans and Trump’s own 2024 voters say they would support impeachment if a vote were held today.

That net +18 verdict puts Trump in the neighborhood of the numbers Richard Nixon saw at the peak of the Watergate scandal in August 1974 — more on that comparison below. The toplines and crosstabs for this poll can be found on the Strength In Numbers website.l
