Fresh off the largest fundraising day of his Senate campaign, Talarico is hitting the road, Kris Jansing reports. She showed clips of Talarico calling out Paxton for taking bribes from wealthy donors while blocking overtime pay for workers and gutting our healthcare.
Hitting the road running and not shying away from painting Paxton as corrupt. One thing I've noticed is that he is not (for now) mentioning Paxton's marital and fidelity issues. I am sure that others will or can do that for him though.
Record fundraising and now the Houston Chronicle endorsement are very good news for Dems. Feeling positive so far about what seems to shaping up here.

(25,655 posts)They are not covering everything from an R perspective, and actually interviewing Dem voters on a regular basis!

(46,401 posts)Perhaps that is why Talarico is holding his fire there. He's got loads to work with, in any event.

(25,655 posts)there is no reason for Talarico to get his hands dirty with that. Others can do it for him.

I have donated to him twice now... and more to come.
I hope he wins!

(5,189 posts)here is an incident involving a caravan of trump supporters and a biden bus.
AUSTIN, Texas -- A federal jury in Texas on Monday rejected voter intimidation allegations against all but one of a group of former President Donald Trump supporters who surrounded a Biden-Harris campaign bus on an interstate days before the 2020 election.
Only one of the six Trump supporters who were sued in the civil trial was held responsible by the jury. A Texas man whose car brushed up against another as the caravan of vehicles dubbed the "Trump Train" raced down Interstate 35, was ordered to pay the bus driver $10,000 and another $30,000 in punitive damages.

(25,655 posts)It should have been used by the Dem party to characterize the Rs as unlawful and violent. It is my opinion that the party would not put up with that now. I could be wrong, but I choose to be optimistic. The leading names talked about for the 2028 election (Murphy, Newsom, fill in the blank) would not put up with that anyway.

(12,624 posts)These are the people who voted for him in the primary--the total whack jobs.
Talarico can focus on the rest of Texans who are tired of the BS, the endless promises of lower costs, affordable healthcare etc. that never materialized and the 24/7 fraud and corruption.
Talaricio has been working this campaign from the moment he won the primary. In fact, he's been working it from before the primary traveling from city to town and back again listening to Texans and expressing his message/vision for a better future. The crowds have been impressive and now the donations are rolling in.
Very good signs all around.

(25,655 posts)The voters in an R primary are the trumpiest of the trumpiest. Forget about them and work on winning the most Independents possible, all the Dems from every demographic (with specialized outreach to the black community and the Hispanic community) and the increasing number of anti trump Rs. With that, we win! Doesn't matter what the far right cultists do.
