The brief order from US District Judge Leonie Brinkema says the administration cannot take any action pursuant to the creation or operation of the Anti-Weaponization Fund, which includes the transferring of money to the Fund; the consideration of any claims submitted to the Fund; and the disbursing of any funds from the Fund.
She set a hearing for June 12 to hear arguments over whether she should issue a more lasting pause on the governments efforts to set up the fund, which is being challenged by a diverse coalition of people and entities who say they would be ineligible to receive money from it.
CNN has reached out to the White House for comment.

This morningâs court order is temporary, but for now, Team Trump canât:

- create or operate its slush fund
- transfer any money to the slush fund
- consider any claims
- cut any checks to anyone

To be sure, this is merely a preliminary step, which is unrelated to the underlying merits. For all intents and purposes, the judge (a Clinton appointee) decided to maintain the status quo until the court can hear additional arguments.
That said, it was also of interest to see a footnote in the court order, in which the judge noted that the administration failed to provide assurances that it would hold off on disbursing funds until the court had a chance to weigh in on the motion for preliminary relief. She quoted this section from the plaintiffs motion:
At the time of this filing, government counsel was unable, however, to provide assurances of how long that status quo would last including declining Plaintiffs request that the government commit to not transferring money to the Fund or processing or paying claims until at least June 19 to allow for less compressed briefing in this case.
Brinkemas order set a court hearing for June 12, at which point shell consider additional steps.
trump and his corrupt DOJ appears to have been planning to fund this slush fund. This ruling made me smile.

President Donald Trump has been having a very bad day in court â and MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace barely managed to contain her glee reporting on his losses.

"The legal hits keep coming," said Wallace. "Today, earlier, a federal judge out of Virginia ruled that DOJ's so-called 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' must freeze and that no money can be disbursed until she hears a motion challenging the fund's very existence."
Then, she noted, just hours later, a different federal judge "permanently blocked Trump from adding his name to the Kennedy Center," demanding that any name other than Kennedy be removed from the signage and promotional material within two weeks, and putting the planned two-year renovation on hold as well.
Wallace then turned to her panel, focusing on New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush. "There's the humiliating aspect to these stories for these came up ... there's all of the losing. I mean, what is left in terms of legal acumen in the Department of Justice if they can't win a case?"
Thrush argued that, privately, even a lot of people in the Trump administration were hoping for the "weaponization" slush fund to get killed in court.
"There are people, political appointees in the Justice Department and in the White House who are really, really happy, or would be very happy, if this thing died a quiet judicial death so that they were not forced to defend it" especially considering Senate Republicans who feel "newly liberated from Donald Trump" are "antithetical" to the plan and had been drafting legislation to stop it.
