Trump says 'no interest' in Kennedy Center overhaul after judge orders his name removed

https://abcnews.com/Politics/federal-judge-orders-trumps-removed-kennedy-center/story?id=133430502

President Donald Trump says he has "no interest" in continuing his overhaul of the Kennedy Center after a federal judge ruled he couldn't rename the Washington, D.C., performing arts venue or close its doors for lengthy renovations unless Congress approves the plans.

In a social media post Friday evening responding the judge's ruling, Trump said that he wants to turn decision-making about the future of the center over to Congress.

"Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else, bring this Institution back, physically, financially, and artistically, I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into "NEVER NEVER LAND," Trump said in the post.

"Therefore, based on the fact that the Radical Left Democrats care more about opposing your favorite President, ME, than saving a dying Performing Arts Center, almost all of which lose large amounts of money throughout the Country, we are going to be working with Congress to transfer this failing Institution back to them so they can make a determination as to what to do with it," Trump said in the post.

Too bad. So sad.

That being said, Congress needs to put some armed guards outside of the building. Knowing that petty, vindictive sack of shit, I wouldn't put it past him to try to tear it down out of spite.

When precisely does he think he took control away from Congress??

The man is f-ing insane

AI (Gemini)

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was originally established by Congress in 1958 as the National Cultural Center when President Eisenhower signed bipartisan legislation.

Following President Kennedy's assassination in 1963, Congress passed legislation renaming it in his honor as a "living memorial", which was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on January 23, 1964.

Adding his name was a cultural crime and another of his endless attempts to usurp congressional power.

How nice that now that the court ordered him to take his grubby fingers off he'll cede power "back to" Congress.

How magnanimous of you Mr. Felon-in-Chief.

when a king erected a grand monument to himself?

There are obviously the pyramids, but that was 4000 years ago.

There was the Great Wall, but that spanned many leaders and was actually used for defense. That was about 3000 years ago.

There is Mt. Rushmore, but those Presidents were all dead.

There are many streets and an airport named after Reagan, but most of that happened after he died, and all of those were public works, not monuments.

Saddam Hussein built a royal palace for himself.

Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife.

of dictators like Saddam Hussein or even Putin. Most tyrannical dictators build gaudy monuments to themselves. I think they believe that will give them some kind of immortality. Obviously Trump's understanding of history is very limited.

that once they are gone, the people can't wait to tear those things down and burn them to the ground?

We need to have a Kickstarter campaign to get pledges for demolition funds for each one of Trump's monuments. He needs to know that the minute he is gone, the bulldozers are coming.

that these tyrants would realize it. Throughout history, the same thing has happened to them, but I guess when they come into power, somehow they believe it will be different. Maybe that is part of whatever mental disorder they have.

Oh yes, I agree that we need to be ready with demolition funds and bulldozers. I'm quite sure there will be more than enough volunteers and it will be done with great joy.

(Trump "dances" like a moron to "YMCA" )

PUBLIC: "He looks like a moron"

TRUMP: "Guess I'd better dance some more."

He has a real fascination with people who loathe him. He's pulled out that tired "Your favorite president, ME" crap at least twice in the last 24 hours. I guess in his diseased mind, he feels that any reaction shows he's getting through to people. He doesn't care how. He just wants a reaction, ANY reaction.
