Trump threatens to keep the UFC construction up permanently -- like the Eiffel Tower.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday compared the structure being built on the South Lawn of the White House for this month’s UFC fight to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

And he thinks it might have a similar fate.

Speaking in a TikTok video, the president said the Eiffel Tower was a temporary structure set up for the 1889 Paris Exposition.
“It was supposed to be taken down immediately after the world’s fair,” he said. “Well, they never took it down.”

As far as I am concerned, we need to force him and his companies to clean it all up. Any one who was in on the deals that this regime has made should also be held accountable for insider business practices and illegal manipulations of the markets. (Hey, they love to complain about this all the time anyway, so use it against them.)

Also, we need to let him know that everything has to be put back just like it was, or even more time will be added to his life sentence. (He won't understand what that means, but adding any kind of punishment will just set him off even more.) If there is no 'means' for his companies to do it, then he himself has to get out there with a crowbar and a sledge. He made the mess, he can clean it up.

Just like my mother told me every time I made one.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 Exposition Universelle to celebrate the centennial of the French Revolution. Designed by Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier and spearheaded by Gustave Eiffel, it was initially intended to stand for 20 years before being dismantled. It was saved from demolition after proving its value as a massive radio telegraph station.

For just under ,000, you too can buy a Trump-branded gold “medallion,” “designed” by the president, celebrating the UFC’s White House event.

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-branded-ufc-medallions-white-house-match

In the months leading up to Election Day 2024, when Donald Trump was ostensibly focused on his candidacy, the Republican launched a dizzying merchandising campaign, pitching everything from Trump-branded watches to silver Trump commemorative coins, batches of digital trading cards to a weird cryptocurrency project, and gold sneakers to Trump-endorsed Bibles....

MS NOW’s Jake Traylor and Soorin Kim reported Tuesday that there are Trump-branded “medallions” on sale, tied to this weekend’s UFC event on the White House’s South Lawn.

The souvenir gold and silver coins range in price from $249.99 to $11,999.99. That’s not a typo: A website called RealTrumpCoins.com is actually selling UFC Freedom 250 “medallions” that people can purchase for just under $12,000. (The website boasts that the coins were “designed” by the president himself.)

....To be sure, the scheduled UFC bout, set to coincide with the president’s 80th birthday, was already controversial, and not just because of the bizarre structure that continues to take shape at the White House. There have also been related questions about Trump’s stock purchase in UFC’s parent company before the upcoming match on the South Lawn.....

The $12,000 gold coins, however, take this mess to a new and unsettling level.

This week, a new lawsuit was filed alleging corruption in connection with the upcoming UFC event, with the hopes of derailing the plans for the gathering, and a judge is expecting a response by Tuesday. Watch this space
