James Carville Freaks Out After Progressives Win Big in Democratic Primaries

‘I’m Done, I’m Not in That F*cking Political Party’: James Carville Freaks Out After Progressives Win Big in Democratic Primaries
Mediaite

Democratic strategist James Carville called for a “schism” in the Democratic Party, stating that he wants nothing to do with the likes of three candidates who won their Democratic primaries in New York.

On Tuesday, three candidates endorsed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, won Democratic primaries for the House of Representatives.

Former NYC comptroller Brad Lander crushed Rep. Dan Goldman to earn the nomination in the 10th district. Union organizer Darializa Avila Chevalier defeated Rep. Adriano Espaillat in the 13th district. And state Rep. Claire Valdez trounced Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso in the 7th district. All three districts are solidly blue, and so the Mamdani-backed candidates are expected to win.

...

A "schism"? Just in time for the congressional elections?

A serious threat? Carville just trying to get some attention?

That makes us even. I want nothing to do with the likes of him and the rest of the establishment corporate politicians who have kept the status quo and valued their own jobs over our lives.

The likes of those three candidates will probably save the rest of us.

Mary Matalin

Mary Joe Matalin (born August 19, 1953) is an American political consultant well known for her work with the Republican Party. She served under President Ronald Reagan, was campaign director for George H. W. Bush, an assistant to President George W. Bush, and until 2003 counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney. Matalin has been chief editor of Threshold Editions, a conservative publishing imprint at Simon & Schuster, since March 2005. She is married to Democratic political consultant James Carville. She appears in the award-winning documentary film Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story and played herself, opposite her husband James Carville, John Slattery, and Mary McCormack in the short-lived HBO series K Street.

After decades of lecturing progressives that they must support Democratic candidates no matter what, and blaming progressives for past losses and for division within the ranks, calling us unrealistic and purists, a couple of progressives win and the mask drops.

I guess it was never about unity, was it, James? It was never about "vote blue no matter who" was it? It was never about "practicality." It was never about winning.

He should be lifting up Cait Conlon. The NYC candidates that won last night did so in extremely safe districts. They don't have to do anything but shake hands leading up to November.

He's being hair on fire instead of focusing on the two Candidates in NY (Conlon and Hochul) who need to dominate their white male Republican Opponents.

I want to see Lawlor and Blakeman in a corner balled up and crying on election night.

The era of the Democratic Leadership Council (Conference?) that held sway during the Clinton administration and drove Dems into the arms of Big Business is OVER.

Hopefully we’re returning to the policies of FDR and LBJ that gave us Democratic majorities in Congress for 40+ years and brought the US the strongest and largest middle class in history.

Sorry, James, it’s time to get off the stage and let a new generation of leaders drive the car.

Carville shows the true colors. How dare people choose candidates who want our tax dollars used for the People? How dare we want universal healthcare? How dare we want education, housing and food? How dare we want an end to the imperialist empire?

These establishment guys punch left way harder than they ever punch right. They hate the left. And these candidates aren’t even really left. They’re not talking about the workers owning the means of production. They still believe capitalism can be reformed.

Carville would have attacked FDR. Even though he was the one who saved capitalism.

I’m sick of all this. It’s so obvious what needs to be done but the likes of the Agin’ Cajun know where their bread is buttered and it’s not with the People.

I tried to get across the point that progressives battling against moderates was just Democrats eating ourselves.

May the best Democrat win.

I could see this coming again a mile away and when I talked about it I was criticized.

I support Democrats, don't need no damn label attached to them, just that he/she is a fighter.

Carville is making it clear just how out of touch he is with the dem grassroots. The dem grassroots is fed up with the dem establishment's don't fight back, turn the page strategy. This failed strategy has brought our country to the verge of becoming a Nazi dictatorship. It's time for Carville to retire.
