Wow, another notable entertainer has passed away.

David Clayton-Thomas of the 60’s & 70’s music group “Blood, Sweat and Tears”.

I still catch one their songs on the radio, I turn it up and hit replay for few times.

Story was from Facebook.

David Clayton-Thomas, the Canadian singer and songwriter whose soulful voice was ubiquitous on American radio in the late 1960s and early ‘70s as lead singer of the brass-driven group Blood, Sweat & Tears, has died, according to his publicist. No cause of death was cited except that he died peacefully at a Toronto hospital on Wednesday evening; he was 84.

Clayton-Thomas wrote “Spinning Wheel,” the group’s most well-known original composition, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969, one of three songs by the band to reach that mark in that year; “When I Die” and the powerful ballad “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy” also reached No. 2, powered by Clayton-Thomas’ unmistakable voice. The group won two Grammys in 1970, including best album.

I always thought this should be a song played at my funeral.

RIP David. You were one of the greats.

I was in a traditional rock group at the time and because of them along with Chicago, Electric Flag, and a few others we added a horn section.

I really loved their first album, but I have to say that the addition of Clayton-Thomas and the departure of Al Kooper somewhat ruined them for me. Similar to when Terry Kath 'left' Chicago, but much more so.

But still, great memories, and may he R.I.P.

And that's what it's really about, isn't it? We had the best music to come of age with. I often listen to the music of those years just to remind me of my youth and all that was going on in my life. Sometimes I close my eyes and I can visualize exactly what I looked like, felt, wore, etc. just listening to a tune and BS&T was one of those groups.

3 singles which all hit #2 on the Billboard Charts. (Spinning Wheel, You've Made Me So Very Happy, And When I Die)

But their first album with Al Kooper as the leader is an absolute Masterpiece.

I loved David Clayton-Thomas and Blood Sweat and Tears, especially in my younger years. I actually had a ticket to see BS&T live around 1971 but the night of the concert, the evil-stepfather refused to drive me. Who knows why. He was always an asshole and that's the kind of thing assholes do. I was crushed.

My first love, my first boyfriend, our song was You've Made me so Very Happy or it could have been More and More. I don’t remember anymore!

I must have played the Child is Father to the Man album 1,000 times. And of course, the second album, which was recorded after David Clayton Thomas joined the group.

Anyway, this really makes me sad. A lot of my favorites from the 60s and 70s are either getting up there or gone.

Thanks for the music, David Clayon-Thomas RIP.
