A little girl who is believed to be 6 years old, who may be nonverbal, was found on Southern Avenue SE early Tuesday. She's in the care of authorities.

The child was found in the 1300 block of Southern Avenue SE, on the Maryland line, at 1:45 a.m., police said. Authorities don't know her name and listed her as a "Jane Doe."

I'm thinking less, "I wonder who took them... and why?" and more "I wonder what country ICE sent their parents to" as my first, instinctual reponse to incidents like this.

His mother had dumped him and was hoping someone else would take him and she was also keeping his checks.

Hopefully, this girl wandered off.

Since she is non-verbal, I don't get the impression that ICE took the parents and somehow left the child. Yes, it's possible, but not likely.

She does have a disability.

We had a reverse case in Texas, where we had a disabled teen who taken into ICE because he didn't know his background.
