Peaks were multiple feet deep in August.

(2,887 posts)Palmer is more of a snowfield these days than a glacier.
There is some ebb and flow too depending on the year's snowpack, with this year having been very light on the deep snow....

(78,384 posts)peaking through even @ the top of the mountain and summer is just beginning. This is really
scary shit. The fossil fuel industries control so much of our government, media, and Trump
and the GOP are their employees. What I am seeing is no longer a glacier but left over snow
pack from last winter.

Leaving Seattle area tomorrow for a week in Canada going up to Fraser River Valley. Packing three muts to a nice quiet Air BNB and get away from the madness of these gd fireworks.

(837 posts)Ive lived in Spokane half my life and Seattle the other half and made 6-12 trips a year since I was 16, so I recognize the view winding down to that bridge coming from Spokane. Its beautiful and a reminder that I was either halfway there or halfway home.
Enjoy the scenery, your dogs and your respite. Fireworks are just starting to kick in here.
