PE-owned defense company is collecting transit swipe data in all major cities. Has a partnership with Palantir.

Cubic Corporation runs payment systems for transit in NYC, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, LA, Minneapolis, SF, DC, and Washington state. Their systems collect data with every swipe and every purchase of a transit card.

Their executives all have weapons manufacturing in their background, according to the American Prospect article I read.

Cubic is owned by Veritas and Elliott Management. Oh, Elliott. There you go again.
So much money to be made in the surveillance society.
So much freedom down the drain.

They advertise revenue protection and safety. These guys must really hate Mandami policies, making buses free in NYC.
Not just because of revenue, but because fare-free rides means data capture is incomplete. Poor babies, all they wanted was control.
Almost like the old ‘Total Information Awareness’ days under Dick Cheney.Such a seductive idea, for the power-hungry.

Never mind. "Private equity, " which is certainly one of the less important aspects of this surveillance.

For others reading, the Prospect article has links to info on the individual cities. Mine was one of those listed, so it's once again time to remind people that cash is your friend and tapping your device or credit card is idiotic.
