Demanding Platner to step down is a mistake.

I'm no fan, but the story that has developed about Platner is he doesn't listen to criticism or reconsider his position. So the more people like Schumer, considered the "Establishment," demand that he step down. The more Platner digs his heels in and stays on the ballot. So yes, this Liberal is criticizing Schumer. The vindictive part of me kind of wants to leave this mess up to those who picked and supported him.

Now a point for all the Democrats and Independents who are reversing their endorsement are inadvertently saying. They're good with roughing up a partner. Good with forcibly detaining a partner against their will. Good with the idea that women bear some responsibility for their rape. Good with a racist trope against black people. Good with Homophobia. As they waited till the sexual assault to finally stop endorsing Platner. If they're smart, they will include all of those glaring red flags or frame it as the last straw in a million last straws. TO try and distance themself from ever supporting Platner.

If he waits to the last minute or the rumor spreads he was pushed out. His supporters will reject any replacement and lose the Senate.

And there can't be another primary. I don't know what provisions exist for moving another person who came in second in the primary to become the candidate.

Chaos that denies the primary winner a place on the ballot and appoints an also ran will inevitably leave marks on Maine.

Mamdani have retracted their endorsements, and all the other leaders.

This isn't on Sen Schumer.

Sen Sanders talked to him and asked him to "Step aside to Move Maine Forward".

It's no "mistake".

I thought the reason (besides identifying as a "progressive" with big talk, and in fact reflecting the opposite of progressive ideals in his life), his supporters ignored his many red flags was because we have to win the Senate no matter what!!!!!!

Now we are admonished not to hurt their precious feelings??

Fuck that.

Establishment Candidate 'forced on' the white working class men and women of Massachusetts.

Truth.

This is PRECISELY what the people of ME chose for themselves. He's a reflection of the Democratic Party Electorate in Maine.

I want to make that statement crystal clear before someone mis-reads my post and starts flaming my ass.

But I for one never like it when Democrats fall all over themselves to try to be the first one to call for someone to step down. I feel like that happens. I feel like many Dems are so interested in being "politically correct" that they don't allow enough time for the full facts to be known. To me, it would be better to wait a few hours, at least, and have a joint statement by several Democrats if the decision is made to no longer back a candidate, etc.

My opinion.

There is so much Oppo on Platner that it is not funny. I fear that Collins is waiting until Platner cannot withdraw to start the oppo dumps. I really doubt that Platner can beat Collins

Besides being a rapey sex pest, he’s a conman and a bully.

I highly doubt he really believes a thing he says. But, like Trump, he got a lot of people to believe.

I have seen a great deal on this. This is just one example that Collins would use against Platner in a general election campaign.

I have seen some other oppo that pesters me including the material on this thread.
