Morris Akiba Katz (born May 18, 1999) is an American political strategist known for working for the campaign for Zohran Mamdani in the 2025 New York City mayoral election. He was deputy media consultant for John Fetterman's 2022 Senate election campaign, and later worked for Dan Osborn's campaign in the 2024 Senate election in Nebraska. He is a close adviser of Mamdani and Graham Platner.[1][2]

Here’s Platner telling Jon Stewart about how they came to his house to talk him into running. Apparently, the extent of their vetting consisted of them looking up that he donated to Bernie Sanders, as Platner notes at the 8:12 minute mark:

One of Platner/Katz's staffers quit and went to work for a rival campaign after she found some old racist/sexists Reddit posts by Platner. (This was last fall) Katz blew off the Reddit posts as PTSD or something.

There is something in the campaign business called "integrity". This team blew it in this case.
