The Secret Service urged President Donald Trump to fly out of Turkey on the old Air Force One instead of the newly retrofitted Qatari-gifted plane out of an abundance of caution amid the escalation with Iran, multiple sources familiar with the plans told ABC News.

The change in plans was not prompted by a specific threat, but influenced in part by differences in the plane security capabilities, two U.S. officials told ABC News.

We all knew the story [REDACTED] told about wanting to "honor" members of the military by letting them tour the new plane was a laughable lie for so many reasons, but it is worth thinking for a moment about what this story actually means:
It means that the White House Military Office, the Air Force, and the Secret Service allowed the POTUS to leave the country on an aircraft that was incapable of fully protecting the president--even though it had two VC-25As with full defensive capabilities at their disposal.
Regardless of how we feel about the current POTUS, the international incident created by the downing of an Air Force One is something we should all want to avoid at all costs. And yes, we know the Toddler-in-Chief himself is most responsible for this situation, but that does not excuse the abject failure of the people tasked with making sure things like this do not happen...ever.
There needs to be a full accounting of how the POTUS ended up in a foreign country with only one fully capable VC-25.
Per the ABC article cited above:
On Tuesday, a group of Senate Democrats sent a letter to Air Force Secretary Troy Meink demanding transparency into the project from the Air Force and L3Harris, claiming the administration is ignoring national security concerns so [sic] in service of delivering Trump a "fancy plane for his personal enjoyment."
We can hope they get some answers, but with this Administration it takes far more than sternly worded letters. Let's hope the mid-terms see Democrats back in power in Washington so that they can possibly hold incompetence like this to account.

Well, Turkey and Iran share a border. It is about 550 miles from Ankara to that border...

And what's more: he listened?
Something seriously finally snapped in the chain of command.... This SHOULD have happened before they ever took off.

Just asking.

...which is well within range of some drones. Ukraine has shown a lot of people how that works.
But a shoulder-fired rocket or small cadre of drones could be launched from a lot closer....

They *tried* to make a cover story for 2 reasons:
1. They didnt want to know there was a major flaw and risk with the new plane
2. They didnt want to admit they were afraid ( Trump is a blustering fool and a secret coward)
