The protester, what should happen to her?

I'm curious about all those who are horrified about the protester who interrupted Michelle Obama's speech. Do you think there should be some sort of punishment, to teach her a lesson, for being so rude to Michelle, and not knowing her place? For the record, I think she had every right to protest, and there should be no penalty. But this poll is more for those who have such a big problem with it. Vote for what you would do below please. This poll is limited to 24 hours.

an invite to another one of their political soirees ever again. After all, their interest in bundling donations was to accrue influence and access in order to have opportunity to lobby for their causes--not have their home be a place where the FLOTUS gets dissed and is made to feel unwelcome.

Her money--or the money of her spoiling little "activist" group--is no good anymore. Her name is mud. I suppose being put on the "Disruptive Asshole" list could be considered a punishment, as well, if she cares about such things.

I would recommend she try to redeem herself by going after the people who oppose Equality For All and wish gay people ill--she should start with Boehner, if she dares.

This is, more and more, a harder concept for people to grasp on DU.

Apparently the first lady's husband said something about signing an executive order banning federal contractors from discriminating based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Sturtz had the nerve to ask the president to keep his word.

And it's not like signing an order will rock Washington's world -- as The Washington Post pointed out, of the "employees of federal contractors that are in the Fortune 1000, 92% are already protected by a company-wide sexual orientation nondiscrimination policy, and 58% are already protected by a gender identity nondiscrimination policy."

Given that the couple hosting the event were gay (legally married lesbians, in fact), you don't suppose they wouldn't have EVER discussed these issues in a friendly way at this--or other--venues with members of the WH staff? This couple wasn't playing beanball--they were bundling for the DNC and hosting a low-key, friendly to FLOTUS, no-stress, no-drama, intimate event. That kind of shit, that's easy to do, not too much pushing and shoving, easy-in/easy-out/close to home is stuff that principals like FLOTUS like, and it brings in nice amounts of cash, and that cash not only helps elect Dems, but it buys access. This big mouth moron fucked that up but good for the doctor and her wife.

Tuesday's fundraiser was hosted at the Northwest D.C. home of Dr. Nan Schaffer and Karen Dixon, a lesbian couple whom were legally wed in the Canadian city of Vancouver in 2008. The event was attended by approximately 200 people and tickets for the fundraiser ranged between $500 and $10,000.
http://wireupdate.com/michelle-obama-confronts-gay-rights-protester-threatens-to-leave-fundraiser.html

There were apparently three other hecklers in the crowd, but they (wisely) kept their mouths shut.

I mean, really. She wants to do some good? I dare her--and her pals-- to go yell at Boehner. That takes guts. Much easier to yell at a politician's wife after fucking over an influential gay couple and jeopardizing their access to lobby for change. Real smart. Not.
