Alabama Sen. Cam Ward (R-Alabaster) kicked up a tweetstorm Sunday after posting on Twitter about this weekend's protests with a photo that was several years old and showed multiple women in revealing clothing.

The photo was from an event in 2013 called SlutWalk Chicago, an annual parade that protests sexual assault and violence.
Ward's tweet soon attracted dozens of angry tweets, many pointing out that the photo was not taken at a women's march, and accusing Ward of spreading "fake news" or "alternative facts."
Ward stood by his statement, tweeting "Never said it was from yesterday. Pointing out how 'civil protests' have been anything but lately. Both right & left have discarded civility".

(116,765 posts)I probably should unfollow some "friend" on Facebook an maybe some family members that aren't on Facebook. Unfortunately, most people don't ask questions about the legitimacy of what they post online.
