Alabama state employees to see no increase in insurance costs next year

Alabama state employees won't see an increase in their health insurance premiums or out-of-pocket costs next year.

The State Employees' Insurance Board today approved a committee's recommendations to keep medical and dental premiums level under both single and family plans.

Employees pay premiums of $115 a month for single coverage, $305 a month for family coverage and $440 a month for family coverage including spouse.

That's before any adjustments, like discounts for non-tobacco users.
