10-year-old student arrested in Montgomery creepy clown threats

ISIS my big butt! We got bigger problems in the heartland!

WSFA in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 10-year-old student was arrested Wednesday in connection with the recent 'creepy clown threats' on a number of Montgomery public schools. The juvenile was arrested at an area elementary school and charged with one count of terroristic threats, according to Montgomery Police.

The announcement was made Thursday morning during a briefing to the press, where Montgomery Police Chief Ernest Finley said, "A child got caught up in the hype. We hope that, at the end of the day, when they go through the juvenile judicial process, that there is some help for that child."

The arrest was made with the cooperation of Montgomery Public Schools as well as the parent of the 10-year-old.

Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange reiterated that "There is no creepy clown. It is a phenomenon of social media and the internet. For the parents and adults, we just need to monitor our young ones' actions as far as these electronic devices."
