Part of my daily routine

First off, the time difference in the Philippines is currently 13 hours. As an example, 11:00 AM Tuesday here is 10:00 PM Monday, EST in Boston and New York. It reverts to 12 hours when the clocks turn to EDT.

So, around 11:00 AM, after coffee and pastry, I sit for about an hour in the sun, by the pool. I sometimes play music, but often just enjoy the sounds of the farm. I'm in and out of the pool as I feel the urge. However, it is during this time that I think of my posting on DU. I sit in the tranquil atmosphere and think of a post I may have read in the morning and want to reply to or a new one I want to post as an OP.

After the post, I prepare lunch and take another dip in the pool and return to read the replies. This is not my whole day, but it takes up part of it. Thank you for being here for me.

2. Trees and shrubs grow unchecked virtually everywhere

It isn't like some areas are landscaped and groomed and others aren't, nobody cuts their trees. My friend told me that it's against the law to own a chainsaw. And that's partly true, you need to be in a licensed profession to own one, and a permit is also required. Anyone caught with an unregistered chainsaw, including homemade ones, is subject to arrest and fine. I could not find a single place that sold them.

7. If you read the act it is only restricted

That act has been amended and only refers to certain provinces. Kinda like different reproductive rights in Alabama as opposed to Massachusetts.

Amended in 2012:

There are no restrictions where I live. I think that the law you cite allows certain protected areas to place those restrictions to prevent illegal logging. .

As you can see by the advertisement that I posted in my previous reply, they sell them here in Iloilo province without restrictions.

the Metro Manila area. All I can tell you is I needed to buy a new chain saw for my brother-in-law. The saw was 8 years old and needed to be replaced. We went to Far Eastern Hardware in Iloilo City and there were scores of chainsaws on display, and we bought one and brought it home.

I live in Iloilo Province on the Central Philippine Island of Panay. I don't know what else to say,

I live in landscaping hell. There is not a moment of the day when some landscaping outfit isn’t blasting with a leaf blower, weed whacking, or mowing. I have to wear noise cancelling headphones just to walk out to my car.

I have a pool but I don’t use it. It has a beautiful nyc skyline view but it can’t be enjoyed because of all the noise and pollution these tools put out.

I’ve done my best to replicate the jungle. I have huge bamboo around my house. I also live at the end of a private road so no cars or street noise.

In the town I lived in before I bought this place, I got a leaf blower ban. Took me 6 years and $150,000 of my time.

Montclair. We got the first ban. We had a big grassroots group that we formed--around 2400 people.
