Cultural Protectionism

I believe this is the perfect term to use against the Right, specifically the Alt-Right. According to Wikipedia, the term originates in Canada and refers to an agenda that is meant to restrict any foreign influences "think much of Trump's agenda" within a states borders, however I think it could be used to describe attempts to limit the nontraditional, such as same-sex marriage. It would be a great term to use as a rebuttal anytime the right tries to rub our nose in the trusty old catch all phrase "political correctness". It also perfectly describes how the Right in general has hoodwinked America into thinking that going after minorities, whether they be racial, ethnic, religious or sexual, is going to make them feel more culturally secure in a changing world. The bonus is, the term already exists, and we aren't just slapping the term "right-wing" onto a term that is almost universally prescribed to progressives and liberals, a tactic that, in my view, has never worked. Just think, the perfect term to describe the right: Cultural Protectionism. It sounds perfectly Orwellian, and even rolls of the tongue.
