Sponsored by: Indivisible, Stand Up America, MoveOn, Need to Impeach

This August, we'll show up to town halls & district offices to tell our members of Congress to do their jobs and open a formal impeachment inquiry.

The Mueller investigation found 37 indictments, 7 convictions or guilty please, 10 possible instances of obstruction, lying to investigators about over 100 secret meetings with Russians. If the average person did this, they'd be in jail. It's time for Congress to do its job and hold Trump accountable. impeachmentaugust.org. Extra Credit: Spread the Word. RESIST! Persist! Peace.

Donald Trump has broken the law, abused presidential power, and stoked hatred in our country. Additionally, the Mueller investigation found:
→ 37 indictments
→ 7 convictions or guilty pleas
→ 10 possible instances of obstruction
→ Lying to investigators about over 100 secret meetings with Russians

If the average person did this, they'd be in jail. It's past time for Congress to do their jobs and begin a formal impeachment inquiry. But the reality is, unless their constituents show up this August during the congressional recess, they won't act.

Step

Find a town hall or plan your own district office visit and ask your Representative: “Will you uphold your oath to support and defend the Constitution and support an impeachment inquiry into crimes committed by Donald Trump?”

Town Halls
Planning a District Office Visit is easy.

Your member of Congress is home for recess until September 9. If they aren't having a town hall, get a group together, and go to their district office to ask whether they'll support a formal impeachment inquiry.

Tips
A few things to keep in mind before your visit:

— Most offices are open to the public and it’s fine to stop by and speak with the person at the front desk or another available staff member.
— When you arrive, ask if the member is available. If not, ask if there is a staffer who you can speak with, preferably someone involved in legislative affairs.
— Speak politely but confidently--remember your member is here to serve you!
— Bring these talking points (below) with you.
— Ask if your representative supports opening an impeachment inquiry.

— If they are supportive, thank them! Then encourage them to speak out publicly and make sure they know you stand behind them.
— If they are not supportive then ask them to reconsider, since the majority of voters, like you, want to see Trump held accountable — then, use the talking points below.

— If you are on social media, take a selfie outside of your representative’s office and share! Use the hashtag #ImpeachmentAugust to encourage your friends to visit as well!

Talking Points
Here are some talking points to bring with you:

— No one is above the law, not even the president. As an elected representative, members of Congress need to uphold their oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
— The Mueller report revealed that Trump welcomed an attack on our democracy from a hostile foreign power in order to win the 2016 election, and then obstructed justice at least 10 times to cover it up.
— The Mueller investigation already resulted in 37 indictments and at least 7 convictions or guilty pleas, including Trump’s national security advisor, personal lawyer, and campaign chairman.
— If any other American obstructed justice as blatantly as Donald Trump, they’d be heading to jail too.
— Robert Mueller did his job—and it’s far past time for lawmakers in Congress to do theirs.
— No more excuses. No more delays. We need Congress to open a formal impeachment inquiry to air all the evidence for the American people and hold Trump accountable.
— Doing nothing would embolden Trump to continue breaking the law — and set a dangerous precedent for future presidents.
