Related: About this forumMy brother responded to me explaining my stance on the Me Too movement by rattling off statistics. Here's what I said:
"False rape allegations wouldn't be an issue in the first place, if rape wasn't widely normalized in many industries"
After he started rattling statistics, I mentally gave up on the conversation. Was I wrong to that?

(44 posts)He tried to bring up how *men are more likely to be falsely accused for other crimes too. I don't know the logistics of that, but I'm sure that was a very ignorant and ill informed thing to say just off of the response alone. I just wish he asked himself why he was trying to defend rapists. Members of my family have gone through sexual assault. Not trying to be like HEYYY READ MY POSTS, but I do explain it further on my had a spat at work post.

(44 posts)I came out the same woman as he did, so I don't like joking about that. But to be honest, I can't really defend the guy

(44 posts)I'm allowed to have feelings for my brother despite strongly disagreeing with him. He has literally gotten drunk and tried to beat me up before 😭 this was a very patient convo on my end. I'll actually flip that on you, how good of a journalist would it have made me if I didn't question him on any of it? Stop assuming you know the entire situation based off of the words someone typed online and think critically. I appreciate your time responding though.
