Expel Eastman website launches
An online petition was launched in October seeking signatures in an attempt to expel Alaska Representative David Eastman, R-Wasilla, from the Alaska State House. The petition appeared online just days after leaked membership information showed Eastman to be a member of far-right, militant organization Oath Keepers. Rep. Eastman confirmed his membership with the group and told the Anchorage Daily News that he considered himself a proud member.
Representative David Eastman of the Alaska State House is a current member of Oath Keepers, an anti-government militia which advocates for the overthrow by force or violence of the government of the United States; therefore, he is not qualified to serve in the legislature, the online petition states.
Now, a website called Expel Eastman has launched, serving as a focal point for the effort that seeks Eastmans expulsion from the Alaska State House. The website doesnt specify what might come next in its effort to expel Rep. Eastman, but is collecting email addresses for those who wish to be involved in the future.
The website contains several news articles about the Alaska Representative who, back in September, wrote a tweet comparing a quote from a speech of President Joe Bidens to one of Adolf Hitlers. Eastmans tweet included a link to a Holocaust denial website run by Carolyn Yeager that gives examples of Holocaust denial.
