Fifteen candidates on the ballot in Petersburg's municipal election
The filing period for Petersburgs municipal election is closed. There are 14 open seats on various borough boards and committees, including the borough assembly, school board, and hospital board. Fifteen candidates are running for eleven seats. All the positions are three-year terms.
There will be two contested races on the ballot. Five people are running to fill two seats on Petersburgs Borough Assembly. Incumbents Bob Lynn and Thomas Fine-Walsh want to retain their seats. Others in the running are James Valentine, owner of Viking Travel, former assembly member Marc Martinsen, and Tony Vinson, a licensed practical nurse at the Petersburg Medical Center.
There is also a contested race for the library board. Incumbents Gina Esposito and Alec McMurren will both be on the ballot, as well as Petersburg Medical Center employee Julie Spigelmyre.
For the Harbor Advisory Board, incumbents Daniel Cardenas and Donald Spigelmyre are both running to keep their seats.
