Anchorage votes on propositions & Assembly, school board seats

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Tens of thousands of ballots are being counted as Anchorage residents vote on over a dozen propositions and candidates in municipal Assembly and school board races.

The municipal election ended Tuesday night with 12 total propositions asking voters how money should be spent on city schools, police, fire, and state park infrastructure, among other proposals.

Additionally, two Anchorage School Board seats will be decided, as well as six Anchorage Assembly seats — half of the entire council.

Voters were given weeks to submit their mailed ballots back to city officials; either by mail using first-class postage, drop-box, or by voting in person at select sites around town.
