If you are a Star Member and you're seeing ads, we are having a technical issue (UPDATE)

We are now cautiously optimistic that this issue is on its way to being cleared up. The cause was not malicious, but a technical problem with some third-party software that is used to protect DU behind the scenes.
It is possible that members will still see the occasional Cloudflare "520" error going forward, but if this happens then simply reloading the page should make it go away.
We also haven't had any further reports of Star Members seeing ads, and we hope this continues to remain the case.
However, if you are a Star Member and you start seeing ads, or if you are seeing "520" errors regularly, we would like to know about it as soon as possible so please report it to Elad or myself, either via DU Mail, or email.

Some Star Members are seeing ads while logged into DU. This is not supposed to be happening. We're working right now to resolve it.
The problem is affecting people at random, and appears to be intermittent. If you start seeing ads, they may disappear again after a while.
Some people may also have run into intermittent "520" error pages. Again, we're working on a fix for this. If you refresh the page, the error should clear immediately.
We'll update you when we have things back to normal, and I apologize for the screw up.

Today (Saturday, March 20th) is the first time I recall seeing ads while being logged into my account.
I realize that you are working on this issue. I only posted in case this information may be helpful to you in some way.
I love DU, and I appreciate the hard work you put into keeping the site running smoothly!
No, I just checked and am not seeing any ads now. I had seen them this morning on my tablet.
I never have to log in to DU on either my phone or tablet because I stay logged on all the time. I don’t know if that could have caused a problem this morning or not.
I did not see the ads on my iPhone.
It really must be a rare occurrence because it has never happened to me until just this morning....and now the ads are gone.

And thanks for the information. Sorry about that. This just seems to be affecting a small handful of users now, but if you saw them and they went away, you shouldn't see them again. Although if they do come back, of course please let me know.
