To set up your avatar and signature, click the "My Profile" link at the top of any page. Look for the sub-heads entitled "Avatar image" and "Signature line".
Members may select from more than 1000 avatar images provided by DU. Currently you are not able to upload your own avatar images, however we do plan to program that functionality before the official launch of DU3.

(29,018 posts)When I reply to you, my avatar appears where yours should be, in the post I'm replying to. I was thinking in my first post, "How interesting, Skinner and I chose the same avatar!" (I just never saw you as identifying that closely with Maxfield Parish.) But looking at my response in the thread, I see you have the "I voted" avatar. Strange.

(7,875 posts)I've had a "Solidarnosc" graphic in my signature line for almost a year now, and I miss it.
I wasn't the least bit pleased to lose my custom avatar either. Glad to see we'll be getting those back at least.
Hope we get the spell checker back too.

My resident computer guru did some checkin' and believes it to be a DU issue rather than with my server. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same problem and if so, any clues how to do a fix. I'm anxious to see those 1000 avatars!
Loving DU3, BTW.

(8,546 posts)That error page appears when you click on those links and your browser's Javascript is disabled (or not working for some reason).
Make sure your Javascript is on and try it again. Or try another browser to see if the one you're using is having issues.
ETA: Those links work by clicking on them - they open up more information within the same page. If you try to use the link to open a new tab/window then that error message appears.
