A onetime attorney for former President Donald Trump cannot practice law in California after a judge's ruling recommended disbarment, according to state records and reports.
A bold red message on the State Bar of California alerts viewers John Eastman is "Not Eligible to Practice Law," the progressive news site Democracy Docket was among the first to report Tuesday.
The status update comes with a hefty consumer alert warning would-be clients that Eastman was been charged with a felony in Georgia, where Fulton County District Attorney Fani Wills has accused the lawyer, Trump and more than a dozen others with election racketeering.
The California disbarment proceedings began last year when the California State Bar found Eastman culpable for ethics violations and misconduct. Last month, Judge Yvette Rolalnd found Eastman culpable of 10 of the 11 disciplinary charges levied against him in a lengthy and damning decision upon which the California Supreme Court will issue a final verdict.

(137,091 posts)E.g., Ghouliani was originally certified to practice in NY and D.C. (but no longer).
According to this, Eastman was licensed to practice in California and D.C.
That's obviously not stopping him from "working" but he's now left with D.C. (and someone needs to get him disbarred there too).
