Novogratz Boosts Biden Critics as Donors Boycott President

(Bloomberg) -- Galaxy Digital LP founder Mike Novogratz and filmmaker Andrew Jarecki are two donors behind a $2 million contribution to Democrats who have called for President Joe Biden to step down as the party's nominee, the latest sign donors are shifting money away from the presidential ticket.

The donation is from a group of several dozen donors, also including Sessa Capital's John Petry and hedge-fund manager Neil Chriss and his wife Natasha, to a super political action committee for House Democrats. The funds are earmarked to help vulnerable members who were among the first to say Biden should bow out of the race, according to a person familiar with the contribution.

Those lawmakers risked angering the Democratic National Committee, which is aligned with the Biden campaign, and provides significant financial support to candidates in battleground districts.

The money is slated to bolster Representatives Angie Craig of Minnesota, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington State, Jared Golden of Maine and Pat Ryan of New York.

I'm running into people here who are thinking along the same lines...

They think "Kamala can win"....

Kamala seems to be popular among the Democratic base.

I do like her, but I don't think it's a good idea to "switch out Biden". We just don't do that here.

We are people of "good faith" who "keep our word".

When I think of very wealthy people, I often think of people who "don't keep their word", "frequently change their minds" and do not always act in "good faith". This risk taking probably is a reason they have accumulated so much wealth.

if I was a rep doing this. Shame! A public document listing the names of the donors (blackmailers) and the names of the reps taking the money and making these statements NEEDS to be posted in op eds all over the country. The media is sure not going to print it as a news story... their names are in there!

No matter how hard they try to make it so, we are NOT an autocracy at this moment. And Goddess help us, it will never be so. But these rich people who are acting like we are, and pushing us toward an actual tyrannical autocracy, need to be named and shamed. They have a right to make donations to the candidate of their choice, just like us. They do not have the right to bribe our elected representatives (although I doubt it's ever stopped them before this). The American People are getting a REAL lesson in electoral politics right now, and it has nothing to do with voter fraud, etc. It has to do with how much of their votes mean nothing because they're stolen by these moneybrokers.

Well, assuming Biden reneges on his decision to veto Congress’ decision to repeal the Security and Exchange Commission’s SAB121 accounting rule, that would mean a number of TradFi custodians like State Street and the Bank of New York could start custodying crypto. And they will, Novogratz said.

Part of what is driving these recent political changes is the sheer amount of money entering campaigns and all but ensuring crypto becomes an election issue. Novogratz estimated that upwards of $150 million has already been directed to crypto-focused Super PACs, which have become “de facto” Republican.

For some of these politicians who are urging Biden to step aside. And it appears that Craig, Golden and Ryan's largest donors are AIPAC. Gluesenkamp-Perez is Microsoft.
I'm quite sure if you do some digging, you'll see a pattern emerge. Look here www.opensecrets.org and come to your own conclusions

Still they should not be rewarded for telling Biden to step aside. That's not part of their congressional duties and it is not acceptable behavior.

I don't think Novogratz is an AIPAC supporter. He probably sides with the protesters. He even started a social justice PAC a few years ago.

Richie Torres is taking a dribbing on twitter. They are being "bribed" to ask Biden to w/d and blame on the debate and his age.

I hope to hell I'm reading it wrong at this point. Ron Wyden took a bribe to turn against Biden? Has he said anything against Joe? I can't remember seeing it. Some of these names... well... I just feel sick to my stomach and totally disillusioned at this point. If our own party turns against us, what chance do we have? I'm deep in a red state; I was counting on blue states and their reps to help represent me, a Democrat.. cause no one in this state is taking my life and votes into consideration. I always have to do mental gymnastics when voting, anyway, because of that. But to see the names on this list... it's a betrayal that cuts too deep.

Some of those could have been for the 2022 cycle. (There was so much data)

This is also a new tactic. These donors have been loyal Democratic donors in the past.

I see Wyden on Novogratz's list and it is from Apr 2022

The thing about Novogratz is that he owns a bitcoin company, which indicates he likes "high stakes" stuff. I really think he's the ring-leader behind all of this.

made-up funny money. They want to play this game? Then disallow cryptocurrency as a recognized U.S. currency. Or tax it at a much higher rate than "earned income" and make them pay for the damage they're doing to the climate with their preferred currency. If the U.S. dollar is good enough for us, it ought to be good enough for them. I've had it with this two tiered system for everything in this country. I'm ready to start a revolution all by myself! They've already stripped rights to my body from me and mine; this is nothing but stripping us of our votes by backdoor. SHAME SHAME SHAME on every democrat who colludes with this. I know we're suppose to support all democrats, regardless... but this is a step way too far. Mendendez and others have gone to prison for bribery like this. How is this different than the stacks of currency found in that one rep's freezer a few years back?

It isn't about Biden not being able to win, it is about Biden not being willing to work for them, instead of the people.

They want government to work for THEM, not the people.

I also can't help but notice that once again the pro GOP media ignores tRump's many name, location and other gaffes. Biden got him good for it at the Detroit rally. Biden gave a great speech. The polling is showing that grass roots democrats support Biden. The grass roots will see Biden through. These elitist cry babies need to get lost.

There is NO time left to bring in another candidate. That train left the station back in 2021.

This is another misguided attempt by the monied thinking their dollars can influence an election. They should have placed their focus on eliminating Felon34x from the GOP nomination.
