The Senate will launch an investigation into the Trump assassination attempt

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chair Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., plans to launch an investigation into the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump, an aide confirmed to NPR on Sunday. Peters is also running the Senate Democrats' 2024 campaign operation.

On Saturday, the House Oversight Committee announced it would launch an investigation.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., also vowed a full investigation, saying, “The American people deserve to know the truth.” Johnson promised to call FBI and Department of Homeland Security officials to testify.

I am waiting for "Trump NOT shot" to be a headline. I'll be waiting a long time for that, but I really don't think he was. Someone tried, which is not good from a security point of view, and if I liked the guy I'd be sorry about his booboo. But I don't believe it was a bullet wound.

and all get all high and mighty, fussy, and fumble over each other to 'launch' investigations.

I wish that they would get that way on other matters before Congress too. Sometimes it doesn't feel that way.

Why did SS let the gunman shoot first & SS not shoot first. How did a 20 yr old kid outsmart the SS. Who was in charge? Why did SS or police not see a ladder going up to a roof? Why was no one securing roofs in the vicinity ?

The SS has a budget of over 2 billion & this was shoddy work.

People were screaming for minutes about a man on the roof with a gun before the kid took a shot.
