MSNBC practicing reprograming just in case Trump gets reelected.

Are we going to be subjected to coverage of this event for the rest of our lives? They have yet to mention a thing about all the guns on the street and how no one is safe. Everything is so "kumbaya" it's making me ill. Now Dear Leader is giving a "unity" speech at the convention. His version probably means unifying all the Democrats in a pen and shooting them.

Wish I could Rec. your post a dozen times. The network is nervous, but I think they'll have to go back to old programming as their ratings slip away. I can't watch this all day while everything else is ignored. No Nicole? Melber? Maddow? No Joy, Lawrence?

during the coverage of what happened here in PA, using anchors like Lester Holt (and intermittent Kristen Welker) to string the stories together. I did not check for the actual OTA NBC programming to see if this was all a simulcast, or at least was partly that where the OTA eventually went back to their entertainment/sports programming at some point.

But as a note - with as much of a "lemon" as this mess has been - what it HAS done is started to disrupt the over 2-week, 24/7 unanimously-adopted yellow journalistic AI-manufactured anti-Biden narrative for now. I even saw one news site that basically lamented that it has taken the focus away from their foaming-at-the-mouth jackal reporting about the demise of the Democratic party.

The trick will be carefully maneuvering around this to get our policy message back out there.

that nonsense so far, has been drowned out by the "assassination attempt", the RNC convention, the VP announcement, and the classified docs case. The media is devoting many of the links on their websites now to puff pieces to prop up and promote a demagogue, although there may be some leftover links to "older" manufactured anti-Biden stories still lingering. I haven't had the TV on (my comcast has been out since around 2 pm ET), but I briefly listened to Nicole on my SiriusXM simulcast of MSNBC's programming and they were basically discussing today's RNC events and I cut it off.

ETA - I started getting the DNC fundraising emails right around 1 pm today so they started everything back up!

This story has already been done way past the point of boredom.

Koppel opened each night with "Day #(insert number) of the the hostages..." or some crap. It drilled the Iranian hostage BS it into the publics bedtime brain every night and, I believe, had a great deal to do with helping Raygun get elected pointing this country into the direction we now find ourselves.

This is a weak attempt by MSNBC to rehabilitate their image with the viewers who have left in droves the last two weeks. Their incessant commentary to undermine Joe Biden's viability as the Democratic candidate has forever tainted the network. The majority of the hosts undercut their credibility with the viewers by jumping onto the Joe Biden must be replaced train. This network was seen as an alternative to the Fox propaganda network and a supporter of true democratic ideals. Even over this weekend their varied guests continued to propagate the notion that Biden is still a liability. They revealed their true colors and I for one will never trust them again.

If so, the terrorists win again.

If they think this is going to boost their ratings, they are sorely mistaken because I have turned it off. I’m sick of the story already. Move on. Quit giving this story air air and life.

I was looking forward to watching Morning Joe this morning. What a bunch of boneheads that run MSNBC.

A.M. When a notification appeared that this was a "special" thing, I was a little pissed off. I had gotten up out of a disturbed sleep just to watch their guests and commentary only to find it was for naught.

tell NBC to f themselves and leave? I’ve never been a fan but my husband watches them every morning.

Not once did I watch it Saturday nor Sunday. After the shooting I watched maybe 30 minutes on abc news. No ratings for cable tv news in my household.

I got so tired of their bs.

While not a big fan, I still think this is garbage from MSNBC.
If I were the Morning Joe team I would all call out sick with laryngitis at the same time.

None of the regular hosts were on yesterday. I can understand why they did that on Saturday. But no reason that the regular hosts were not on Sunday. I haven't watched today and probably won't, unless Joy or Lawrence is on. Which they probably will not be since both are always critical of trump. Sigh.
There's no reason to not have regular programming. All they did yesterday was rehash the same thing from the day before. There is nothing new being reported. Unless there is an update about the shooter, what is the point to still have 24/7 coverage about the shooting?

Regular programming can be interrupted to give updates if anything happens. This is just beyond ridiculous.

If the rumour given is true - that they don't trust their professionals to do their jobs - it's a damning indictment of their organization. If it's some other reason, then they appear to be too ashamed to say why. It's not like there actually was enough "rolling news" to need continuous coverage. Analysis and commentary was just what a news channel should have been providing.

The guy missed, a soul was lost trying to shield his family, and Trump went and 'played' golf the next day.
