I couldn’t have biological children but I’m a step mom, have 3 grandsons, 3 godchildren, nieces, nephews, etc., I care immensely about them and their futures. What Vance is saying is if you don’t give birth you are selfish, don’t care or as he put it, “no skin in the game”. For some women it’s a conscious and very personal choice and for others like me, a heartbreak. The statement is outrageous and needs to stay in the public discourse, he’s obviously just like trump and has no clue what ordinary people, think, feel or experience.

I was interested in being a foster mom or adopting, but when I got serious about it my divorced mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. So instead of caring for children, I cared for her, and that's okay.

I was also a public school teacher for 9 years and taught around 1200 teenagers over that time. I dare ANYONE to accuse me of caring less about our country's, and the planet's, future. On the contrary, I don't only care about my children, I care about EVERYONE'S children.
