Donald Trump Gets No Black Votes vs. Kamala Harris in New Michigan Poll

Source: Newsweek

The WDIV/Detroit News poll found that the presidential race is a dead heat between Trump, the Republican nominee, and Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee—with each receiving 41 percent of support.

Among the Black voters surveyed, 82.1 percent supported Harris, 11.5 percent backed independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and none supported Trump.

The poll surveyed 600 likely Michigan voters between July 22 and 24 and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points. It is unclear how many Black people were included in the sample, but it is likely to be fewer than 100 people given that Black residents make up 14 percent of Michigan's population.

Other polls have indicated that Trump's gains among Black voters have eroded since President Joe Biden quit the presidential race on Sunday and quickly endorsed Harris—who is of Black and South Asian descent—to replace him at the top of the Democratic ticket.

I think only 11 out of 83 counties voted for Biden in 2020. Of course, most of those counties are basically empty. But still, the 3rd largest county in the state voted for trump both times and even in Wayne county, which has Detroit in it, trump still pulled something like 30% of the vote.

There has always been a certain amount of black folks, moreso men that vote republican. He appeals to misogynists and bigots. They are in every group. Any new support they got from some of those toxic men, was over hyped.

This means that any polling done and processing represents changes as of end of day Tuesday, when things were still in flux. I expect that longer term polls will start to show that Harris is pulling ahead by Monday.

I think we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg. I have NEVER seen such rapid movement. Even if this election is close, Kamala has it with enthusiasm, hands down, and Barrack & Michelle Obama just endorsed her.

Sometimes, I question how much endorsements count, but I think Barrack & Michelle can not only assist with their endorsement, but they can also energize huge crowds of people.

Hell, I love Kamala, but I'll be happy to see Barrack & Michelle campaigning too!
